The ESG Edit #3 – December 2025: The Final Chapter of the Year
Welcome to the third edition of The ESG Edit!
As we close the year, this edition reflects on the topics and discussions that shaped sustainability reporting in the year’s final weeks. Q4 brought sharper questions around CSRD readiness, data ownership, and how ESG reporting fits into everyday business operations, not as a side effort, but as part of core decision-making.
Over these final months, we engaged in industry conversations, worked closely with partners, and followed regulatory and technological developments shaping ESG reporting. This edition brings together key updates, recent publications, events, and selected case studies from the field.
Something Exciting Coming Up in Early 2026!
We recently worked with the Fedrus International and Microsoft team to record a new case study video, capturing their experience, challenges, and key takeaways in their own words.
The video takes a closer look at how their sustainability reporting and CSRD approach evolved, from data foundations to practical execution. The full case study will be released in Q1 2026. More details coming soon.

How Co-Pilot Is Redefining ESG Reporting
In 2025, AI was everywhere. It shaped conversations across industries, including sustainability. One of the year’s key moments was the introduction of Copilot in Microsoft Sustainability Manager.
With Copilot, sustainability professionals gained new ways to work with ESG data. Reporting workflows could be created faster, questions could be answered using natural language, and insights could be reviewed without manual data searches. Copilot supported analysis across datasets, helped teams stay focused on reporting tasks, and reduced time spent switching between systems.
Throughout the year, Copilot stood out as one of the most talked-about additions in sustainability reporting.
